For the first
time the Circolo Surf Torbole will host the Techno 293 European Championship from the 21st to the 27th of April
2014 (the week just after Easter).
The Techno 293
class is recognized by the ISAF and the Italian Sailing Federation as the class
to approach for the first time the world of windsurfing. The range of ages is
from 9 to 17 years old.
This event in
the last years has become increasingly important. More than 300 young
competitors from all over Europe
will meet in Torbole at Circolo Surf to attend the race. They will be
accompanied by coaches, parents and relatives. They will be divided into
different divisions in according to the age and the size of the sails in order
to organize the competition in the best way. The races will take place in the
afternoon with the “Ora” the local wind which blows from south to north perfect
for these kind of races.
Afloat there
will be two Race Committee boats and different rubber boats for security and
assistance. Ashore there will be the International Jury composed by 5 judges
coming from different countries; a big structure will be installed just next to
the club to host the competitors who could eat, have a rest and storage their
equipment.
The whole
event will be followed by journalistic crew with interviews, videos and
pictures. At the end of each day the provisional results, press release and
pictures will be published on the Circolo Surf Torbole web-site and on the most
important web-sites linked to the Techno class and to the major windsurfing
magazines.
During the
last day, just after the end of the races, the price and closing ceremony will
take place.
