NOTICE OF RACE GARDA LAKE TROPHY IN ENGLISH

1 RULES
1.1 The event will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing – Windsurfing Competition Rules (WCR).
1.2 The Techno 293 Championship Rules & Techno 293 Plus Cup Rules.
1.3 Class Rule amendments: Techno – NoR #8.5.
1.4 No national prescriptions will apply.
1.5 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
1.6 If there is a conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions the Sailing Instructions shall take precedence.

2 ADVERTISING
Boards may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the organizing authority. ISAF Regulation 20 ‘Advertising Code’ shall apply.

3 CLASSES AND DIVISIONS
3.1 The participating classes and divisions shall be:
3.1.1 Techno 293 – Under 13 Boy & Girl: Junior Boy & Girl; Youth Boy & Girl
3.1.2 Techno 293 Plus – Men and Women
3.2 Age Divisions:
3.2.1 A Techno under 13 shall be under 13 year of age (born in 2002).
3.2.2 A Techno Junior shall be under 15 years of age (born in 2000, 2001, or 2002 (2002 Italian competitors that have already celebrated their birthday only); competitors born in 2003 or later are not eligible to compete).
3.2.3 A Techno Youth shall be under 17 years of age (born in or after 1998 and not later than 2001).
3.2.4 A Techno Plus sailor shall be aged 17 years or older (born in 1997 or earlier).
3.3 A minimum of 5 competitors is required to constitute a division.

4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 All entries shall meet the requirements of ISAF Regulation 19-Eligibility Code.
4.2 Competitors shall be members of a National Class Association which is a paid up member of the relevant international class association, or of the IWA. Membership formalities can be completed on site.
4.3 The following shall be presented upon registration:
• Evidence of valid third party insurance
• Proof of age
• Emergency Contact and Health Information Form - for those under age of 18
Boat Driving Licence (if applicable)

5 ENTRY FEES
5.1  All entries have to be paid at Circolo Surf Torbole office within 11 a.m. in the first day of competition only. For a best functional organisation it’s necessary to send to Circolo Surf Torbole office  by fax+39 0464 548592 or by email info@circolosurftorbole.com and contextually to Italian National T293 Coordinator mared@fastwebnet.it a pre-entry within Monday April,14th.
The required fees are: € 50.00. For all competitors that have already paid the entry fee of Europeans through IWA office (certificated on IWA website) a discounted entry fee of € 30.00 will apply.
5.2 Entry fees paid at registration shall be paid in cash - Euros.


6 RACE FORMAT 
6.1 The Championship shall be a racing, “open entry” event.
6.2 Men and women may race together depending on entry numbers.
6.3 The Techno 293 Class shall race a maximum 3 races per day, in a maximum 9 race series.
6.4 The T293 Plus Class shall race a maximum 4 races per day, in a maximum 12 race series.
6.5 Three races are required to validate the event.

7.2 The first possible warning signal will be made each day at 12:00hrs.

8 EQUIPMENT & EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
8.1 An Equipment Inspection Form shall be completed and returned to the Event Equipment Inspectors by the close of registration.
8.2 Equipment inspections may be made at any time during the event.
8.3 Upon completion of registration and until the end of the event, at all times when ashore except when launching and retrieving, all equipment shall be kept in their assigned places at event site. Removal of any equipment from the event site requires prior written approval from the race committee. Access to equipment in the storage area during certain hours, including hours of darkness may be restricted.
8.4 Unless otherwise directed by the organizing authority, boards and equipment shall be launched and retrieved from the designated area at the event site.
8.5 Techno. Competitors in the Techno Junior (under 15) division may use either the 5.8 OD sail/rig OR any sail of 5.5sqm, or less, as the change-down from the 6.8 OD. Any aluminium boom or carbon mast (not exceeding 75% carbon) may be used with the 5.5 change-down sail.


9 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions (SI’s) will be available upon registration. Any changes to the SI’s shall be approved by the Class Representative at the event.


10 COURSES
Courses will be as described in the sailing instructions.

11 SCORING
Scoring will be according to the WCR Appendix A. Championship Rules apply when Group Racing within divisions.

12 COACHES AND SUPPORT BOATS
Support boats shall be registered at the race office. Private motor boats are not permitted on this section of the lake without the “temporary permission” granted through the host club. Support boat drivers shall have a valid boat licence and third party liability insurance. Limited charter may be available and may be applied for by contacting the office of Circolo Surf Torbole.

13 SAFETY
14.1 Personal buoyancy is mandatory for every competitor and support boat crew member.
14.2 Every competitor and support boat crew member shall wear a personal flotation device that shall conform to the minimum standard of ISO 12402-5 (level 50), or as specified in the SI’s.

PRIZES
14.1.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three competitors of each properly constitutedclass /division.Properly constituted divisions will be posted on the official noticeboard after the completion of registration. Under 13 division prizes to the 1st boy and the 1st girl.

OFFICIAL CEREMONIES

Competitors arerequested to attend theevent’s social functions;however, the organising authority may refuse entry to those whose standard ofattireis notcommensurate withthe occasion.Prize winners may forfeit prizes for non attendance at the prize giving ceremony.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitorsparticipate in the event entirely at their own risk, see WCR 4-DecisiontoRace. The organising authorityor anyof their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to during or after the event.

INSURANCE

Each participating board shall be insured with valid third party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 1,000,000 euro per event or the equivalent.

RIGHT TO USE NAME AND LIKENESS

In registering for the event, competitors automatically grant to the Organising Authority the right in perpetuity to make, use and show from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproduction of them, taken during the period of the event, for the said Event as defined in the Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions in which he/she participates without compensation.

A EARLY ARRIVALS
Competitors arriving early are advised that support from the organizers can be arranged, in advance, from 12th April. The host club will charge till the 19th of April 10 euro per competitors per day which includes: equipment storage, use of rest rooms and showers. The host club will offer a package for federal and big teams that will arrive before the beginning of the event. For early arriving contact Circolo Surf Torbole.

C TRANSFERS
Transfers can be arranged from Brescia Montichiari, Milano Orio al Serio, Milano Linate, Milano Malpensa, Verona-Catullo, Venezia-Treviso Airports to the event site. For details and cost please contact Circolo Surf Torbole office.
D ACCOMMODATION
